CROWN is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

We collect the following personal data when you use CROWN:

  • Email address (for account creation and login)
  • Hair photos (submitted voluntarily for AI analysis)
  • Hair profile data generated from your analysis
  • Usage data and app interaction data

4. AI Processing and Third Party Services

CROWN Hair uses third-party AI services to analyse your hair and generate your personalised routine:

Hair Photos — When you scan your hair, your photos are sent securely to OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API for hair type analysis. Photos are processed immediately and are not stored by OpenAI beyond the analysis.

Quiz Answers — Your quiz answers are sent to DeepSeek's API to generate your personalised hair care routine. This data is processed securely and not stored beyond the routine generation.

Results Only — CROWN Hair only saves the analysis result (your hair type, porosity and density) and your generated routine to our secure database. Your original photos are not permanently stored by any third party.

Your data is used exclusively to provide the CROWN service, including:

  • Creating and managing your account via Supabase
  • Analysing your hair photos using OpenAI GPT-4o Vision API to generate your hair profile
  • Generating personalised hair care routines using DeepSeek AI
  • Providing affiliate product recommendations based on your hair profile

6. Affiliate recommendations

CROWN may display product recommendations that contain affiliate links. If you purchase a product through one of these links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence your hair analysis or routine recommendations.

7. Data storage

Your account data and hair profile are stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database service. Data is stored on servers within the European Union where possible.

As a user based in the European Union, you have the following rights:

  • The right to access your personal data
  • The right to correct inaccurate data
  • The right to request deletion of your data
  • The right to object to processing of your data
  • The right to data portability
